Nichijou fans, rejoice: City the Animation is premiering this summer

For a certain type of anime fan (i.e., ones with exceptionally good taste), Nichijou is considered one of the best examples of slapstick comedy the medium has to offer. Based on Keiichi Arawi’s manga, the slice-of-life comedy anime quickly asserted itself as one of the best series of the 2010s back in 2011, thanks in no small part to its deadpan humor, outlandish and memorable characters, and jaw-dropping, over-the-top animation.
